Skopje, 15 June 2026 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski attended Monday in Paris the opening of international defense and security fair "Eurosatory 2026" and met with Hélène Conway-Mouret, Vice-Chairwoman of the French Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces.

Minister Misajlovski briefed Senator Conway-Mouret on investments in the Army through the stable increase of the defense-related funds, which reached 2.18 percent of the GDP in 2026, of which about one-third is allocated for the procurement of new and state-of-the-art equipment, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

"The Government is making large investments in the country's defense and security, enhancing NATO's collective security as well. By increasing its defense budget and procuring new equipment, including air defense missile systems Mistral 3 from the French Republic, we contribute to a stronger Alliance and safer citizens," said Misajlovski.

He added there is big potential for development of defense cooperation with France, especially in the context of joint training and exercises as well as exchange of defense expertise.

During its tour of Eurosatory 2026, the Macedonian delegation was acquainted with the latest advances in the field of military technology in the context of the Army's modernization process, reads the press release.
