Misajlovski: Capital investments in Army continue at accelerated pace

Shtip, 29 July 2026 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski inspected on Wednesday a reconstructed building at the “Jane Sandanski” army barracks in Shtip, noting that projects aimed at improving the Army’s infrastructure continue to be implemented at an accelerated pace.

“The last few weeks you could see that we have been constantly promoting new projects and a lot is happening in barracks all over the country. Here at the barracks in Shtip you can see a really beautiful, reconstructed building. We are talking about a complete reconstruction of building 35 of the Shtip barracks as part of a Mden 33.7 million investment. This means we are completely changing the state of all barracks. This will continue over the years,” Misajlovski said.

Misajlovski said the reconstruction of the building included adding a new, energy efficient facade, renewed electrical installations, reconstructed sanitary facilities, and other construction work. The Minister added that other facilities in the Shtip barracks will undergo reconstruction in the coming period as well.

“We will spend over Mden 100 million just on the Shtip barracks, these are taxpayer funds that will be used on projects for the modernization of the barracks, i.e., the Macedonian Army,” Misajlovski said.

The Defense Minister told journalists that over EUR 12 million will be invested in 2026 and 2027 in capital projects in infrastructure.
