Minchev: Ministry aims to establish unified national training system accessible to all public sector workers

Skopje, 24 July 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev attended Thursday an opening ceremony for the fully renovated training center for public sector workers in the Municipality of Aerodrom in Skopje, stressing that in the coming period the Ministry plans to renovate the remaining training centers across the country.

The center, according to Minister Minchev, is the first concrete step in implementing the newly adopted law on professional development and education of administrative workers. The center is a part of the Public Administration Academy that will begin operating on January 1, 2027, and is expected to be the driving force behind the development of training and education of all public servants in the country.

It will provide training and education to new generations of public servants as well as those who are already employed in the public sector.

The center is expected to grow into a regional center which will support the development of the Public Administration Academy over the next two years, alongside a similar center in Bitola and a new large joint education center, for which Minchev said the Ministry is close to signing a memorandum with the French Embassy.

“Our goal is to build a unified national training system accessible to all public sector workers, regardless of their geographic or institutional belonging,” Minchev said, adding that the investments are part of the Government’s “broader vision to build institutions that operate transparently, responsibly, and in the public interest”.

At the opening of the training center in Aerodrom, Minchev said it a symbol of the commitment to create a competent, efficient, and professional public administration in service of the citizens and institutions.

“Our mission is clear – to create a public administration that will develop and constantly improve. That’s why we don’t see this training center just as a building, but as a functional resource, a space where public administration workers will acquire knowledge, skills and support which are necessary for the responsible and timely realization of their tasks. As part of the comprehensive reform processes, the Ministry of Public Administration is working hard on a systemic transformation of the way training is conducted,” Minchev added.
