Mickoski to Ahmeti: Ethnic card not working, we read a new book of developed Macedonia

Bitola, 3 October 2025 (MIA) - SDSM's slogan at these elections is 'Fighting for our home'. All this is nice but they forget they managed the home a year and three months ago. And what we found were destroyed foundations, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski told a rally in Bitola late on Friday.
"You remember 500,000 fellow citizens living in poverty, double-digit inflation, ruined standard of life. And DUI were the masters who made all the decisions on the economy, the public procurement contracts, they bought malls, gas stations, business office and what not," said Mickoski.
He spoke about Ali Ahmet and DUI's conduct during the campaign for the local elections.
"It's a sad picture seeing him giving lessons in history while his people emigrate because of his criminal past. The man is in the midst of a local election campaign but he teaches history. While in power, he did not forget to boost his family portfolio with a big mall in downtown Skopje, while his associates bought expensive business premises. But, he is not saying a word about what he will do to keep Albanans in their birthplaces. He doesn't care about Albanians, he only plays the ethnic card. This is a thing of the past, we are reading a new book about a developed Macedonia, one in which young people who used to emigrate because of people like him are now coming back to the country," underlined Mickoski.
