Skopje, 17 September 2025 (MIA) - The accusations by the opposition regarding the situation with the fires, according to Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, are lies and falsehoods, and an attempt to gain political points. In a statement to the media on Wednesday during a visit to Kumanovo, Mickoski said the opposition is engaged in lies and fabrications and that the lies will continue in the future.

“The opposition is doing this because they believe that with this strategy they will gain political points and support from the citizens. Even if everything they say were true, and none of it is, then the real question arises about what they are doing to aid the process. They aren’t doing anything, they engage in necrophilia, fabrications, and lies. But they will continue because they have no program, no vision, no idea. We have a clear program, a clear strategy for how we should continue working – honestly, responsibly, with dedication. As I have said many times before, we will win in the end,” Mickoski said.

Regarding the fires, the PM said the fires in Trubarevo and Vardarishta are fully under control, while in Drisla, another part of the landfill is expected to be covered with soil and sand today.
