Mickoski in Bitola: SDSM and DUI prepared for any concession at Macedonia's expense, for personal benefit

Bitola, 3 October 2025 (MIA) - SDSM and DUI are prepared for any concession at the expense of Macedonia and for their personal benefit, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski told a rally in Bitola late on Friday.

Mickoski said that when SDSM beat their chest in patriotism, they in fact are betraying Macedonia.

"(Former PM Zoran) Zaev has said it is not befitting for SDSM to be a patriotic party, although his student Venko FIlipche is hiding behind the so-called red lines. Those red lines are another lie that SDSM has packed. They signed the agreement with the eastern neighbor and opened the Pandora Box, leading to them accepting the Bulgarian dictate a few years later. If Filipche kept the identity then why do we need red lines? Let me tell you, as long as this government is in power, the Macedonian lines are the only ones that exist," said Mickoski.

The VMRO-DPMNE leader said the time of responsibility and justice is coming.

"Fifteen months ago, we inherited a decaying system, rotten institutions and a pile of problems. We built the foundations with enthusiasm and energy. We did not lose hope. That is why these elections will decide if we move on forward or go backward. Our goal is for Bitola to be a city of perspectives. We will continue to build Bitola that is worthy of its history. My proposal to Mayor (Toni) Konjanovski, immediately after his re-election, is to find a plot for young couples, who will purchase the land at EUR 1 per m2, so they build their home and fill it with kids. Having a big family is the ultimate patriotic act," said Mickoski.

Incumbent Mayor Konjanovski presented his programme for the second term, while referring to the Government support provided to the municipality.

"Together with my team, we will continue to attract investments and keep the youth at home. We will strengthen the local economy. The new term is not only my mission, it is our mission," noted Konjanovski.
