Skopje, 28 May 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told a Q&A session in Parliament on Thursday that the bill on equitable ethnic representation will be in Parliament very soon, noting that everyone has the right to use their mother tongue, but there have been attempts by some to create ethnic conflict where none belongs, thereby setting a bad example. The PM stressed that state-building relies on supporting each other.

"Very soon, here in Parliament, you will have the opportunity to vote on the equitable ethnic representation bill, where percentage is not important, but quality is. I expect your support. I know many Albanians, many, believe me, who refuse to see themselves through percentages," said Mickoski in response to a question from European Front MP Skender Rexhepi on whether he would back constitutional amendments related to language policy. 

"As regards the bar exam, if you read the law, you will see there that the use of languages in taking the bar exam is not regulated by the law, but it is regulated by the minister. How many justice ministers were from the coalition you support? Why didn't they regulate it? Because you are hypocritical, because you are Ali Express patriots while in opposition, whereas while in government you promote green eco-agendas. While in opposition you want to create ethnic conflict where none belongs," PM Mickoski said.
