Skopje, 27 January 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski addressed Tuesday a formal academy on the occasion of Saint Sava Day, noting that this event, with its spiritual and cultural dimension, reminds us of the enduring values that connect us.
"This day, dedicated to Saint Sava, highlights the enlightenment and spiritual unity of the Serbian people, including the Serbian community here in Macedonia, but at the same time it is one of the cornerstones of the Balkan spiritual and cultural heritage, along with the bright figures and dates of the other Balkan peoples," said PM Mickoski.
He added that they are a common treasure, pointing out that "as a generation, we are obliged to cultivate mutual respect and understanding and thus deepen our common ties."
"Here in Macedonia, for centuries we have lived exactly like that, as a mosaic of diversity. We have cooperated, we have rejoiced in beautiful things, we have grieved together when times were difficult, and together we have managed to overcome all challenges. Enough with the divisions," Mickoski pointed out.

The PM underlined that when neighbours respect each other, when cultures meet and complement each other, new opportunities and horizons open up for joint projects, as well as for trade, investments, for young people who learn about each other, from each other.
"That is our future, the region's future. We are not doomed to live next to each other, but we are bound by fate to work for each other, with each other, for a better common future," the PM said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Inter-Community Relations Ivan Stoilkovic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Ljutkov, Deputy Prime Minister for Political System Ljupcho Dimovski, Miloš Vučević, advisor to the President of Serbia, Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, Serbia's Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković, Minister without portfolio Đorđe Milićević, and Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić, also attended the event.
