Skopje, 26 July 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Sunday that he expects an announcement that the water in Gostivar is fit for technical use to come out tomorrow, noting that the hyperchloration process of the water supply network in the town is ongoing.

PM Mickoski said results of the analyses are good, adding that the situation is coming back to normal.

"Teams from the Skopje utility enterprise are currently in Gostivar, working on the hyperchloration of the installations, the results are already good and I expect an announcement tomorrow that the water is fit for technical use. Things are coming back to normal after only a week," Mickoski told reporters.

He added that the Government has undertaken all measures at its disposal, whereas the Public Prosecutor's Office is proceeding in identifying those responsible.

On the opposition's criticism regarding the water quality in several other cities, the PM said the Government is focused on solving problems and providing services for the citizens.

"I often try to avoid commenting on the opposition because it is not worth it. Their policy is to lie and spread hysteria. The Government's policy is to deliver and we will continue to do this," said Mickoski.
