Skopje, 8 October 2025 (MIA) - VLEN’s candidate for Mayor of the Municipality of Chair, Izet Mexhiti, presented Wednesday the second pillar of his election program – education.  

“Our vision is clear and uncompromising – to create a municipality in which every child will have access to top education, in modern and safe schools where they will be able to develop their talents and fully realize their potential. To that end, we are planning concrete, feasible projects with secured financing,” Mexhiti said.

The mayoral candidate said this would mark the beginning of the largest investment cycle in educational infrastructure, with the construction of new schools and kindergartens in the municipality, as well as the modernization of existing schools.

Mexhiti said his goal is to ensure that every school in Chair is a model of quality, adding that the municipality would commit to introducing single-shift classes in all schools in Chair.

“We are investing directly in students and teachers. Education is made by people, which is why we are introducing scholarships for talented students and athletes, and awards for the most successful teachers. Free school supplies for every first grader. Free IT training and the organization of school sports leagues. And finally, the project that transforms Chair into a regional academic center, with government support, construction will begin on the ‘Mother Teresa’ University Campus, a capital investment of EUR 40 million. This is not just a building – it is knowledge, development, new jobs, and prestige for our municipality. Yesterday, the permit for preparatory work on the construction of this campus was issued. The implementation of this major project for Chair began yesterday,” Mexhiti stressed.
