Skopje, 17 October 2025 (MIA) — We can all see things in Skopje could be better; we don't need studies or expert evaluations, we all live here, Levica's Skopje mayoral candidate Amar Mecinovikj said Friday as he was walking and meeting with Skopje residents from Gjorche Petrov to Novo Lisiche to listen to them share their everyday problems.
According to Mecinovikj, it is high time politicians showed that changes are possible and there is hope. He said Levica's positive election campaign provided grounds for optimism to Skopje residents. He also voiced his own optimism that he could make it to the Skopje mayoral runoff.
"My motivation for entering this race stems from my experience as member of the Skopje City Council, which was extremely dysfunctional and destructive to the interests of citizens," Mecinovikj said.
He said his party could move things in the right direction "considering how the city authorities have acted so far."
If elected Skopje mayor, Mecinovikj said he would help improve public transit and lead "a systematic fight against air pollution by treating the sources and not just the symptoms." mr/
