Macedonian feature '17' to screen at Berlin Film Festival
- Macedonian film director Kosara Mitić will present her debut feature '17' in the Perspectives section of the 76th Berlinale, the Berlin International Film Festival.
Skopje, 21 January 2026 (MIA) – Macedonian film director Kosara Mitić will present her debut feature '17' in the Perspectives section of the 76th Berlinale, the Berlin International Film Festival.
According to Black Cat Production, for the Berlinale's Perspectives session, an international jury of three decides which of the 14 fiction debuts, including '17', will win the Best First Feature Award.

The film tells the story of Sara, a 17-year-old girl, who hides a secret on a school trip. When the trip spirals out of control and Sara witnesses a classmate’s sexual assault, she and the girl seal a bond that will last forever.
'17' is produced by Tomi Salkovski of North Macedonia’s Black Cat Production, in co-production with Art & Popcorn (Serbia) and December (Slovenia). The North Macedonia Film Agency, Film Centre Serbia, the Slovenian Film Centre, SEE Cinema Network, and CineLink Work in Progress are supporting the project.
