Skopje, 13 May 2025 (MIA) — An exhibition of works created in Zagreb in the 1950s by Macedonian graphic artist Menche Spirovska (1928-2011) opens Tuesday at the Macedonian cultural and Information Center in Zagreb, Croatia.
Titled "Visual Fascination with Zagreb," the show consists of Spirovska's complete works she created during her studies in Zagreb. This is the first time some of them have been shown to the Croatian public, organizers said.
The centerpiece of the exhibit is her never-before-shown "Conceptual Design for a Tourist Booklet to Advertise Zagreb."
According to organizers, Spirovska designed the booklet while studying at the erstwhile Academy of Applied Arts in Zagreb, which left a significant mark on the development of Croatian art, design and visual culture.
The display of rarely seen works was organized to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the Zagreb Museum of Arts and Crafts. Spirovska's Zagreb artworks are part of the museum's collection. mr/
