Gostivar, 9 October 2025 (MIA) — Gostivar Mayor Valbon Limani running for second term in office announced Thursday at a breast cancer awareness event that if elected, he would set up a program offering 150 free mammograms to local women each year, MIA's Gostivar correspondent reports.

Running as the National Alliance for Integration's mayoral candidate, Limani said he would also advocate for buying a mammography machine for the local hospital.

At the event, Limani distributed leaflets designed to promote the prevention and earlier discovery and treatment of breast cancer.

"By distributing information leaflets, we encourage women to have the necessary check-ups on time. Prevention begins with information," he said. mr/
