Kavadarci, 9 October 2025 (MIA) — Levica party representatives in Kavadarci ahead of the Oct. 19 local elections presented their election platform to locals, announcing their plans for urban development, environmental protection and building a long-promised distillery for processing the surplus grapes grown in the region, MIA's Kavadarci correspondent reports.
Joined by Levica leader Dimitar Apasiev, Levica member and local councilor Krume Bogevski running for second term in office spoke about his contribution to the municipality in his first term.
"I changed the culture of boring, monotonous council sessions," Bogevski said, accusing previous council members of clientelism.
"Kavadarci residents finally started watching the sessions and getting interested in what happens to their money, air and water."
He said he used filibustering to block voting on two "disastrous" urban plans and added that "a government with an absolute majority in the council is unconstructive and unaware."
He said the local branch of Levica defended workers' rights and provided free legal assistance to dozens of their fellow citizens in legal disputes.
"Let me remind you that in the heat of the summer, workers in Draexlmaier fainted. While DPMNE and SDS begged for donations, Levica was the only party that filed a complaint with the labor inspectorate, which resulted in the workers finally getting air conditioning," Bogevski said. mr/
