Labina Mitevska wins Great Star of Macedonian Cinema award

Skopje, 17 August 2023 (MIA) — Macedonian actress and producer Labina Mitevska is this year's winner of Great Star of Macedonian Cinema award given annually by the Macedonian Film Professionals Association, its president Igor Ivanov Izi told a news conference Thursday.
She will receive the award during the upcoming Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers' Film Festival.
Labina Mitevska (b. 1975, Skopje) studied Art History and Archaeology at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University before continuing her education at the European Film College in Denmark, and the University of Tucson, Arizona, USA. She began her acting career in Milcho Manchevski's "Before the Rain" (1994). She has appeared in many more films since, including "Welcome to Sarajevo" (1997), "I am from Titov Veles" (2007), "God Exists, Her Name is Petrunya" (2019), and "The Happiest Man in the World" (2022).
Past winners of the award are Kiril Cenevski, film director and screenwriter (2013); Milcho Manchevski, film director and screenwriter (2014); Darko Markovikj, cartoonist, satirist, film director (2015); Simon Perry, film producer (2016); "Vardar Film", production company (2017); Milica Stojanova, actress (2018); Ljupcho Konstantinov, composer (2019); Stole Popov, film director and screenwriter (2020); Bajram Severdzan, actor (2021); and Gorjan Tozija, film producer (2022). mr/
