Cairo, 1 June 2026 (dpa/MIA) - Kuwait reported missile and drone attacks on Monday morning and said its air defences were responding.
"Any explosions that may be heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile targets," the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said in a statement on X.
"The public is urged to adhere to safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities," the statement added.
The military did not say where the drones and missiles had come from or what the targets of the attacks were.
Since the start of US-Israeli attacks on Iran in late February, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly fired missiles and drones at Kuwait and other Gulf states.
The US maintains numerous military bases in the region, some located only a few hundred kilometres from Iran. Despite the ceasefire, several Gulf states have recently reported isolated attacks.
