Skopje, 1 September 2025 (MIA) - Teacher training on artificial intelligence (AI) has begun so they apply it and instruct pupils in the second semester. A representative sample of teachers from one school is undergoing training, followed by peer training, said Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska on Monday.

"We will introduce it in all subjects and the teacher will determine the volume and the tools used. Before that, they will educate pupils on the benefits and negative aspects of AI. Therefore, we will move on once the pupils acquire the basic knowledge, by gradually introducing AI in all subjects," Minister Janevska told reporters.

She added that pupils are already using AI "uncontrollably".

"I use this opportunity to tell parents that the process will be strictly controlled and would like to thank professors from the Goche Delchev University's IT Faculty for the handbook they have drafted, which focuses on the benefits and the challenges that teachers and pupils might face. When it comes to pupils, the handbook dedicates a lot of attention to the ethics aspect, i.e. the proper use of this system," said Janevska.

The Minister noted that pupils would also learn about data safety and other undesired actions.
