Tel Aviv, 20 June 2025 (dpa/MIA) - The Israeli Air Force (IAF) carried out another series of strikes on Iranian targets, hitting dozens of sites, the Israeli military said on Friday.
"More than 60 IAF fighter jets ... struck dozens of military targets in Iran using approximately 120 munitions," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Telegram.
The IDF said the strikes hit "military missile production sites and the SPND headquarters for research and development of Iran's nuclear weapons project." SPND is the acronym for Iran's Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research.
"Several industrial sites used to manufacture missiles were struck in the Tehran area," the IDF said, adding that these locations served as a key industrial centre for the Iranian Defence Ministry.
The conflict between the two long-time enemies has now entered its second week, with both sides continuing to trade attacks amid escalating regional tensions.
Israel, which has nuclear weapons, says its goal is to stop Iran from developing them and to reduce its missile threat. Tehran, however, denies it wants nuclear weapons, insisting its nuclear programme is only for peaceful, civilian use.
