International Day of Democracy to be marked with inaugural political platform

Skopje, 14 September 2026 (MIA) – The VMRO-DPMNE Women’s Union is organizing Monday the first political platform titled “More Participation, More Democracy” to mark International Day of Democracy (Sept. 15).
Hristijan Mickoski, VMRO-DPMNE leader and Prime Minister, and Marija Miteva, head of the VMRO-DPMNE Women’s Union and Government spokeswoman, will deliver opening speeches.
Two panel discussions will take part in the event.
The first panel discussion, titled “Participation as the driving force of democracy” will see speeches by Timcho Mucunski, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; Elena Ivanovska, Secretary General of the Women's Union Executive Committee and State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Science; Ana Shutinovska, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union Executive Committee; and Mare Bogeva, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union Executive Committee and Director of the Public Procurement Bureau.
The second panel discussion, titled “The role of political parties in democratic participation, will feature speeches by Vlado Misajlovski, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee and Minister of Defence; Lenche Neloska, Vice-President of the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union and Director of the Gerontology Institute in Skopje; Dragana Arsova, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union Executive Committee and Member of Parliament; and Elena Kochoska, member of the VMRO-DPMNE Women's Union Executive Committee.
