IMF/WBG Constituency: National Bank a pillar of macroeconomic and financial stability

Skopje, 4 July 2025 (MIA) - National Bank Governor Trajko Slaveski and Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska headed a delegation to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) Constituency meeting held in Luxembourg. The delegation also includes Vice Governor Ana Mitreska.

According to the National Bank, the bilateral meetings reaffirmed the role of the central bank as a pillar of macroeconomic and financial stability in the country.
During the meetings with IMF and World Bank officials − including among other Marnix van Rij, Mark Horton and Eugene Rhuggenaath − fruitful discussions were held on the current challenges of central banks.
"The dialogue highlighted the importance of coordination between central banks and international financial institutions to promote financial inclusion, digitalization of the financial system and improvement of regulatory frameworks. The discussion also focused on the ways in which the National Bank supports macroeconomic stability through efficient monetary policy management and a strong regulatory role," reads the press release.

The meetings, adds the National Bank, reaffirmed trust in the capacity and commitment of the National Bank as a stable and credible partner, which contributes to creating a resilient and successful economy, with better conditions for citizens and business entities.
The National Bank, the press release reads, will continue the commitment to its mission of ensuring the security and stability of the financial system, as a basis for sustainable economic development and progress of the country.
