Budapest, 20 August 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Oil is once again flowing through the Russian oil pipeline Druzhba, which runs to Hungary and Slovakia, following an attack by the Ukrainian army, the government in Budapest said on Tuesday.
"Oil deliveries to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline have been restored after the Ukrainian attack two days ago," Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said in a post on social media platform X.
"I thanked Russian DepMin [of Energy Pavel] Sorokin for the swift repairs. We expect Ukraine not to strike this vital pipeline again. This is not our war. Hungary must be left out of it!"
The Ukrainian military said on Monday that it had attacked the Nikolskoye pumping station in Russia's central Tambov region overnight, adding that oil pumping at the station had been completely halted.
The facility lies roughly 320 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. The pipeline also supplies Slovakia.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Kiev of sparing nothing in the conflict.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than three years and has repeatedly struck Russian territory.
