Skopje, 14 October 2025 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate for Skopje Mayor, Orce Gjorgjievski, said in a televised debate Tuesday he believes he will win the mayoral race in the capital in the first round.

“I am convinced I will receive the citizens’ backing and I expect a victory in the first round considering the serious work I have done in the past four years and the strong credibility I have to ask for the citizens’ backing. To be honest, I expect to win in the first round,” Gjorgjievski said in a televised debate with SDSM candidate Kaja Shukova.

Gjorgjievski said he would make decisions independently in the interest of the citizens.

“My priority will always be the citizens, just as it has been in Kisela Voda over the past four years. I’ve shown that the only interest I protect is the interest of the citizens. That means independent governance and taking actions solely for the benefit of the citizens. Mickoski has never suggested anything to me in any situation. As Prime Minister, he has always been focused on supporting the realization of certain projects, but as for giving me suggestions, first of all, I’m not that kind of person. I’m an adult, and no one can suggest anything to me except the citizens,” Gjorgjievski said.
