Skopje, 23 July 2025 (MIA) — Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi was admitted to the Digestive Surgery Clinic shortly after midnight with intense abdominal pain from a bowel obstruction, according to the hospital's director Ognen Kostovski.

He said there was no surgery planned for Gashi.

"He is receiving medications and he is under close medical supervision," Kostovski said.

In a press release Wednesday, Gashi's office confirmed that the parliament speaker was in hospital. 

The release said he was there for detailed examinations and his health condition was stable. mr/
