Zrnovci, 21 September 2025 (MIA) - The government is preparing measures to support citizens amid rising food prices in supermarkets. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski noted that teams from the State Market Inspectorate and the Competition Protection Commission are continuously active in the field, and some procedures have already been launched.

“The measures are being implemented, and just because we are not making a spectacle out of the policies we are implementing doesn’t mean we don’t care. Every day, the State Market Inspectorate and the Competition Protection Commission are active on the field, and some procedures have already been launched,” Mickoski said on Sunday, responding to journalists’ questions after laying the cornerstone of a home for the elderly in Zrnovci.

He also said that before the start of the school year, the so-called school basket was introduced, which reduced the prices of many products used by students.
