Skopje, 15 June 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Monday with North Rhine-Westphalia Minister for Federal, European and International Affairs and the Media, Nathanael Liminski, expressing satisfaction that the visit is a continuation of the intensive dialogue and cooperation with the German state.

Interlocutors expressed satisfaction from the development of cooperation at various levels, with a focus on economy, investments, interior affairs, education and culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Mucunski and Liminski signed a new joint declaration of intent for cooperation between the government of North Rhine-Westphalia and North Macedonia in 2026-2030, reaffirming the joint commitment to further enhancement of the excellent bilateral cooperation that was established by the previous declaration.

Mucunski voiced assurance that the new declaration will open a new stage in the mutual cooperation and contribute to further strengthening of economic ties, increased networking of business communities, and the creation of new opportunities for investments from North Rhine-Westphalia in North Macedonia.

Mucunski thanked Liminski for the strong and continued support that North Rhine-Westphalia has given to North Macedonia's European integration, noting that the new declaration stimulates a strong economic and investment cycle, as well as support in fields of the state's jurisdiction, for the purpose of contributing to the European integration process and aligning with the EU law, reads the press release.
