FM Mucunski focuses on strengthening of bilateral cooperation and support for EU integration during Paris visit

Skopje, 6 June 2025 (MIA) - In the framework of his visit to Paris, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski has met with Senator Marta de Cidrac, chairwoman of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group France-Western Balkans, and President Emmanuel Macron’s advisor for continental Europe and Turkey, Bertrand Buchwalter.
Mucunski and Cidrac highlighted the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in building stable relations between the two countries. They discussed the European perspective of North Macedonia and the region, as well as opportunities for enhancement of parliamentary cooperation and strengthening of political and economic ties, with a focus on the consistent French support for the Macedonian EU integration process, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
Mucunski and Buchwalter discussed issues of mutual interest, including the current geopolitical challenges in Europe, the importance of regional cooperation, North Macedonia's partnership and contribution in NATO, as well as further strengthening of cooperation in the context of European and regional stability.
FM Mucunski reaffirmed the country's strategic objective of EU membership and its continued commitment to reforms and goodneighborly relations, while noting France's important role as strong supporter of North Macedonia and the region's European prospects, which is set to continue in the coming period, reads the press release.
