Filkov: ZNAM brings together people with integrity and public respect

Skopje, 25 July 2025 (MIA) - Justice Minister and ZNAM Central Committee Chair Igor Filkov told Kurir that the local elections will demonstrate that citizens want people with principles, with integrity, and with results.

As reported by ZNAM, when asked about expectations for the upcoming local elections and cooperation with VMRO-DPMNE, Filkov said that this is more than just a coalition.

“This front represents a broad effort to restore state institutions. That is precisely why we are facing resistance and being subjected to political labeling,” Filkov stated.

He added that today’s generation of politicians will not be hostages to outdated systems and that the upcoming local elections will demonstrate the public’s demand for leaders with conviction, moral integrity, and real results.

He expects that certain political structures will try to create chaos and distrust, especially when they lose influence, but emphasizes that citizens are increasingly recognizing these attempts.

“Our key municipalities are Kumanovo and Centar. ZNAM will have its own candidates in several other municipalities as well. We are coordinating with VMRO-DPMNE in areas where there are strong, proven, and credible candidates. We are building cooperation where there is capacity, responsibility, and vision,” Filkov said.

According to him, a strong city organization of ZNAM has been established in Skopje, bringing together well-known intellectuals, athletes, civic activists, and business leaders. ZNAM has announced it will participate in the local elections with its own independent councilor lists.

He expects success in the elections.

“Yes, and not out of inertia, but because we are different. We don’t promise miracles, only honest work. I believe that citizens will recognize sincerity, conviction, and integrity. Our campaign won’t be a spectacle, but a fight for trust. We will succeed because we are offering something long absent from the political scene: new people, new ideas, and zero tolerance for crime and corruption,” Filkov said.
