Filipche: VMRO-DPMNE has made buying food a luxury; minimum wage, clean air, all luxuries

Radovish, 12 October 2025 (MIA) — Where is this Scandinavian happiness Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE want us to see and make us believe we can live well in a country where the monthly minimum salary is 400 euro? Yes, we can, until the 10th – and then we have to survive the rest of the month, SDSM leader Venko Filipche told a campaign rally in Radovish ahead of the Oct. 19 local elections.
"With VMRO-DPMNE in power over this year and a half, food has become a luxury. The minimum wage is a luxury, clean air is a luxury, waste management is a luxury, justice is a luxury, a decent life is a luxury," Filipche said.
He said the government's price control measures had failed and "the truth is that real inflation is 4% and food is 6.3% more expensive."
"Let them put their spin on things as much as they want. The citizens can see and feel. They don't need numbers. They know what their money could buy a year ago, and what they can afford to buy now," Filipche said.
SDSM's Radovish mayoral candidate Risto Spasov promised he would implement all the projects in his election platform within the set timeframes.
With him as mayor, he said Radovish would get an indoor public swimming pool by the end of 2027. He said he would solve the town's waste management problem by initiating the construction of a regional landfill through the end of 2028. He also announced his plans for a child care center and bike paths. mr/
