Skopje, 26 October 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche said Sunday the party would undergo a leadership reshuffle after the local elections due to the first round results, primarily in some municipalities across Skopje.

"After last year's heavy loss and intensive work that followed, these elections are an indicator of how to position ourselves and operate in the coming period, because more work is needed, especially in those municipalities where we did not achieve the desired result. In this context, let me announce there will be changes in the party leadership after these elections," Filipche told reporters in the Skopje municipality of Aerodrom.

He added that the party faced pressure prior to the first round of the local elections - audits, social work centers, vote bribing - all of which have been reported to the competent institutions.

The SDSM leader urged the residents of Aerodrom to vote for their mayor candidate Aleksandar Trajanovski in next weekend's runoff.
