Kichevo, 1 October 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche told a rally in Kichevo on Wednesday that the party represents the continuity of the ideals on which the modern Macedonian state is built.

"SDSM is a continuation of Macedonia's brightest tradition - struggle for freedom, equality and dignity. Our roots lie in the Anti-Fascist Assembly of Macedonia (ASNOM), the generations that laid the fundamental value of the state being a home for all," said Filipche.

He said now is the time for reunification and consolidation, adding that SDSM fights for a state that is a home for all, not anyone's private property.

Filipche highlighted the essential difference with VMRO-DPMNE by saying that "Macedonia is not defended with insults and quarelling, false calls for national unification while playing games of division in the background, whereas patriotism and dignity are not abused for political ratings."

He added that the dignity of the citizens and the state is defended by strong institutions and a serious plan, not empty words.

"Dignity is defended with people who mean the country and future generations well. It is defended by a smart and firm position and results at home - reformed institutions that instill trust and economic policies that put the citizen first," noted Filipche.
