Skopje, 30 June 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met Monday with European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos and highlighted the Government's commitment to EU integration, with dignity and through implementation of crucial reforms in the fields of rule of law, economic development and digital transformation.

"Today, I met with European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, who is paying a two-day visit on occasion of the EU-Western Balkans Leaders' Meeting. We discussed the region's European perspectives, with a focus on the implementation of reforms, realization of EU's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and enhancement of the cooperation with European institutions. I highlighted the Government's strong commitment to EU integration, with dignity and through implementation of crucial reforms in the fields of rule of law, economic development and digital transformation, PM Mickoski wrote in a Facebook post.

He adds that Commissioner Kos welcomed the Government's reform agenda and reaffirmed the European Commission's support for the region's progress on the European path.

"I said the meeting reaffirms the country's important role in regional and European processes, and recognizes the Government's new reform energy, creating a predictable and stable future for all citizens," notes Mickoski.

The leaders’ meeting, which will formally begin on Tuesday, is to be attended by leaders from the Western Balkans, as well as ministers, top EU officials and representatives of regional organizations and international institutions.

Two panel discussions will take place, with Mickoski and Kos addressing the first one, followed by a joint press conference.

The first panel will be dedicated to the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, and the second one on specific mechanisms for its implementation.
