EU Ambassador Rokas opens exhibition

Skopje, 27 September 2025 (MIA) - EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas will open the exhibition "CERN and the Universe: The Science that Connects Us" at Diamond Mall on Saturday.

According to the EU Delegation in Skopje, this is a flagship event in the marking of 2025 European Researchers’ Night, the largest science outreach event in Europe which brings research and researchers closer to the public.

This year is the 20th anniversary of European Researchers’ Night, making the 2025 edition a milestone for promoting science as a shared European value.

In addition to EU Ambassador Rokas, Dr. Tadeusz Kurtyka from CERN Genève, Prof. Dr. Mimoza Ristovа from the Institute of Physics at Skopje's Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Jan Stojanovski, international award-wining student in physics and mathematics, will address the event scheduled for 7 pm.

The exhibition “CERN and the Universe: The Science that Connects Us” is set up by Europe House to take visitors closer to the secrets of the universe, particle physics and European scientific cooperation. Visitors will be able to take a virtual walk through the CERN accelerator and experience interactive installations. The exhibition is open for the entire public and will remain installed at Diamond Mall Skopje until October 15, 2025.

Beyond Skopje, European Researchers’ Night will also be celebrated across the rest of the Europe House network. These activities are tailor-made for the local communities and range from VR dome presentations through STEM experiments and lab analysis to science treasure hunts. Moreover, young people from Kochani will be offered a curated visit to the CERN exhibition in Skopje.
