Berovo, 29 August 2025 (MIA) -- Berovo's Ethno Square festival began Thursday evening with a parade of folk song and dance ensembles and a music concert in the town's center, MIA's Berovo correspondent reports.

Igor Dimovski and his Rakija Break project headlined the concert. Robbie Ray Led Robot also performed.

In addition, the traditional Malesh at Your Fingertips homemade food and crafts fair opened as part of the festival. The fair promotes local farmers and small businesses.

"Visitors can enjoy homemade gastronomic delicacies and authentic products revealing the beauty and uniqueness of Macedonia," Berovo Mayor Zvonko Pekevski said at the opening. 

He highlighted that the festival aimed to promote and protect the Macedonian tradition and cultural heritage.

Over the next few days, folk song and dance ensembles from across the country will perform at Berovo's Dimitar Berovski Square.

The festival will also offer concerts by several music acts. They include Andrijana Petrushevska and Amadeus Band, who will perform Friday evening.

The Malesh Bell children's song contest, as well, is one of the series of Ethno Square events that will be held Friday. mr/
