Athens, 22 July 2025 (MIA) - An 80-year-old Macedonian national has died at a beach near the Greek city of Kavala, MIA’s Athens correspondent reports.

The Hellenic Coastguard said they were informed on Monday that “an eighty-year-old foreign citizen (citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia) had been pulled unconscious from the beach”. He was administered first aid and was transported to the General Hospital in Kavala, where doctors confirmed his death.

According to MIA’s reports, the 80-year-old Macedonian citizen lost consciousness while in the sea, prompting other swimmers to call for help. An autopsy is set to determine the cause of death.
