Skopje, 13 November 2025 (MIA) — To mark Nov. 13, Skopje Liberation Day, several official delegations laid flowers in tribute to the fallen fighters.

Flower-laying ceremonies were held at the Partisan Cemetery in Butel, at the Alley of the Greats and at the grave of General Mihajlo Apostolski.

Flowers were laid by veterans from the Union of Fighters in the National Liberation War and Anti-Fascist War (1941-1945), representatives from the City of Skopje led by Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski, lawmakers, government members, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova's cabinet members, army members as well as Red Cross representatives.

On Nov. 13, 1944, the partisans from the 42nd and 50th People's Liberation Divisions and the 16th Macedonian Brigade liberated Skopje from fascist occupation, opening a new chapter in the history of free Skopje. mr/
