Skopje, 12 October 2025 (MIA) — As part of this year's Days of Macedonian Music festival, a concert of works by young composers will be held at the National Opera and Ballet at 8 pm. Admission is free, organizers said.
The concert program will consist of new compositions by young composers and music composition students, including Sara Siljanovska, Luka Jankulovski, Bojan Dimitrovski, Nikola Gjorgiev and Zoran Trajcheski. The pieces will be performed by their classmates, fellow music students.
According to the festival's artistic director, composer Filip Ivanov, this is the first young composers concert the festival has organized in almost a decade.
The return of the concert after a 10-year hiatus "confirms the festival is not only a guardian of our heritage but also an active driver of new musical thought," Ivanov said.
Now in its 48th year, Days of Macedonian Music continues to play a key role in the development of Macedonian composers, creating a bridge between tradition and the future, organizers said.
The festival is organized by the SOKOM Composers Association of Macedonia. mr/
