Skopje, 3 July 2026 (MIA) — Acclaimed Macedonian pianist and piano teacher Danica Stojanova will give a piano recital Friday in Istanbul, performing works by Tomislav Zografski, Nikolai Medtner, Jana Andreevska, Blagoj Canev and Enrique Granados.

The recital will be held at Surp Levon Armenian Catholic Cathedral in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district at 8 pm. 

The event is organized by the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Istanbul with the support of the Istanbul Philharmonic Association. 

It is part of the center’s mission to promote Macedonian music and arts as well as strengthen cultural dialogue, organizers said.

Danica Stojanova (b. 1957, Strumica) teaches piano and chamber music at Ilija Nikolovski Luj State Music and Ballet Education Center, where she served as principal from 2021 to 2024. She has given many masterclasses and her students have won numerous prizes. 

Stojanova has performed as a soloist with major orchestras across Europe, Asia and the United States. She has judged piano contests and selected performers for the Ohrid Summer Festival. She also wrote the book “Frédéric Chopin, the Poet of the Piano” (Publisher.mk, 2017). mr/
