Skopje, 5 September 2026 (MIA) -- As of Saturday 7:30 am, 31 wildfires were registered by the Crisis Management Center. Two remain burning, five are under control, and 24 have been put out, the CMC said.

Still burning are the fires in the Municipality of Gjorche Petrov near the village of Grachani, which has spread into the territory of Kosovo, and in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod near the village of Belica.

Fires under control include a brushfire in the Municipality of Struga between the villages of Burinec, Lokok and Selci; a brushfire in the Municipality of Saraj near Kopanica; a forest fire in the Municipality of Chucher Sandevo near the village of Brest; and landfill fires in Kratovo and in Delchevo. mr/
