CMC: Eight active wildfires, one under control
Skopje, 20 August 2026 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said it registered a total of 22 wildfires across the country by 6 pm on Thursday. Eight of them are active, one is under control, and the rest have been put out.
Active fires are burning near the villages of Chanishte, Krushevica and Lopatica in the Municipality of Prilep, near the villages of Belushino and Jakrenovo in the Municipality of Krushevo, near the villages of Morane, Vrtekica and Ramni Gaber in the Municipality of Studenichani, in the village of Luboten in the Municipality of Butel, near the villages of Dragov Dol and Lokvica in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, near the village of Tajmishte in the Municipality of Kichevo, the village of Nikushtak in the Municipality of Lipkovo, and the village of Cerovo in the Municipality of Gostivar.
The fire in the village of Mojno in the Municipality of Mogila is under control.
The CMC said the extinguished fires were registered in the municipalities of Kichevo (2), Radovish, Strumica, Novaci, Gostivar, Brvenica, Negotino, Veles, Struga, Debar, Kumanovo and Studenichani.
