Berlin, 18 November 2025 (dpa/MIA) - A technical fault at internet provider Cloudflare downed a number of websites and apps on Tuesday, including social media platforms X and Truth Social.

OpenAI's artificial intelligence service ChatGPT was also out of action.

Cloudflare is a global internet infrastructure and security provider whose services are designed to make websites and online applications faster, more secure and more stable. The US service is particularly well known for its DDoS defence, which protects websites from being paralysed by mass requests.

Cloudflare's status website initially reported that it was aware of the issue and was working to resolve it.

At 1309 GMT it said: "The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented." By 1335 GMT it added: "We are continuing working on restoring service for application services customers.
