Bislimoski steps down as ERC head
- Head of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Marko Bislimoski, has resigned from his post.
Skopje, 12 February 2026 (MIA) - Head of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Marko Bislimoski, has resigned from his post.
The ERC confirmed on Thursday Bislimoski's resignation for MIA, but gave no further details on the reasons for his resignation.
Bislimoski helmed the ERC for nearly eight years.
The Financial Police Office filed criminal charges against Bislimoski two weeks ago on suspicion of abuse of office and authority. According to the Financial Police, Bislimoski has failed to act in accordance with the Law on Energy and failed to revoke the license of the "Triterol Petrol" DOOEL Skopje company in a timely manner, even though it did not meet the requirements for trading in oil and fuels. The license was supposed to be revoked in January 2024, but the procedure was terminated by an illegal decision and it was revoked only in April 2025, which allowed the company to achieve a turnover of more than EUR 3.15 million and an illegal property gain of almost EUR 229,000 during that period.
Bislimoski told a press conference later that he would make all information available to the competent institutions in order to prove that no violation of the law was committed in the procedure for revoking the company's license.
