Army Chief of Staff Lafchiski meets Greek counterpart Choupis 

Skopje, 6 May 2025 (MIA) - The Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, who is visiting the DEFEA–Defence Exhibition Athens 2025 in Greece, met Tuesday with his Greek counterpart, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis.

According to the Army General Staff, Lafchiski and Choupis shared assurances over the continuation of inter-army cooperation especially in the area of military education, training for special forces, participation in drills and international operation, as well as the NATO standardization process.

Lafchiski expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by Greece following the deadly fire in Kochani.

“This represents a true reflection of solidarity and friendship between two neighboring countries,” Lafchiski said.

In an earlier conversation with MIA earlier on Tuesday, General Lafchiski said the country has "fruitful cooperation" with Greece, adding that it is “our great supporter on many grounds”.

DEFEA takes place every two years in Athens. This year it is taking place May 6 through May 8, featuring 436 exhibitors from 37 countries, 18 national pavilions and 98 official delegations from 45 countries. In addition, hundreds of leading defence and security companies from around the world will present cutting-edge technologies, systems and solutions in land, sea, air and cyber domains.
