Skopje, 15 May 2025 (MIA) — Beginning Thursday, the Archaeological Museum in Skopje will hold a series of events through Sunday to celebrate International Museum Day, May 18, and highlight the vital contribution of museums as active participants in shaping society.
According to the museum in a news release, the series of events is titled "Museums, Education and Research" and will include paper presentations, an exhibit, lectures and a children's workshop.
A special focus will be put on current archaeological issues and new approaches to interpreting and protecting cultural heritage.
All events have been organized on the topic proposed by the International Council of Museums to explore on International Museum Day 2025, "The future of museums in rapidly changing communities," organizers said.
ICOM established the day in 1977 to celebrate museums as spaces of learning, innovation, and social progress. mr/
