Skopje, 12 August 2025 (MIA) - Firefighting at the Jasen hunting ground continues. Special forces of the police and the army alongside teams of the Public Enterprise "Jasen" are battling the blaze on the ground, while a firefighting aircraft of the Protection and Rescue Directorate and a police helicopter are providing aerial assistance, said Protection and Rescue Directorate head Stojanche Angelov.
"A flank of the fire, which stretched along an extremely steep terrain above the asphalt road that leads from Skopje to Lake Kozjak through the Jasen hunting ground, was successfully put out by the army special unit "The Wolves", preventing the fire from spreading to a larger forest area," Angelov said.

He pointed out that this is an extremely difficult terrain to put the fire under control.
In addition, he noted that a fire above the village of Svilare has been completely extinguished, while another fire is still burning on the territory of the village of Radusha, moving towards the municipality of Jegunovce.
