37th Skopje Book Fair begins

Skopje, 8 May 2025 (MIA) — Rumena Buzharovska, Patricia Marsh-Stefanovska, Kiro Donev, Darko Panchev, Miodrag Majić, Zoran Spasov Dzof and many other writers will sign their books at this year's Skopje Book Fair, which begins at 10 am, with Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Ljutkov set to give a speech at the official opening at noon.
In its 37th year, the fair will be held at Boris Trajkovski Arena from May 8 through 14. It will host 110 book launches organized by 65 publishers. In addition to the latest Macedonian releases, this year's fair will promote contemporary Serbian literature, organizers said.
Also planned is a talk and a book signing by contemporary German author Sebastian Fitzek as well as children's creative workshops, scheduled for May 10-11.
Organizers expect over 30,000 visitors this year, including 12,000 school children.
Tickets are priced at Mden 100 for adults, Mden 50 for school children, and Mden 250 for three-time visitors. Entrance is free for children under 12 accompanied by a parent.
Mden 15 of each ticket will benefit the Skopje SOS Children's Village. mr/
