Skopje, 24 August 2025 (MIA) – State roads are a key factor in the functioning and development of a country all the while also being important for the local self-government, said Koce Trajanovski, director of the State Roads Public Enterprise, wo took part in Sunday’s panel “Four Years of Investments in Infrastructure” as part of the fair of mayors.

In the past year since VMRO-DPMNE came to power, he said, a lot was done for state roads because there is team effort between the competent ministry, the government and the mayors.

“In the past year, we have completed and put into operation 101 kilometers of express and regional roads, and they are worth about 200 million euros. So, to do so much and to invest so much is certainly part of a team effort, primarily from the Public Enterprise and the central government institutions that help,” said Trajanovski.

Trajanovski added that the Stracin-Dlabochica, Dlabochica-Kriva Palanka roads, worth about 100 million euros, have been completed, as well as the Gradsko-Drenovo road, the Drenovo-Faris road, the road from the beginning of Gevgelija to the entrance to Bogdanci, and the road from Ohrid to Sveti Naum.

-All of these were roads, unfortunately, we inherited either stalled, or were in some very mild form of construction. We managed to put all of this into operation, together with the ministry and the government, and build it very quickly,” Trajanovski said among other things.
