Skopje, 22 May 2020 (MIA) – The government at a session scheduled at 5 pm will decide on whether there will be a 58-hour lockdown this coming holiday weekend, Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski said Friday.
According to him, decisions regarding the coronavirus epidemic are reached solely on the basis of expert opinion.
All parties, except the opposition official, share almost an identical position, the PM noted.
“Three days ago, the Committee for Infectious Diseases sent a proposal involving lockdown, but I’ve decided to schedule a government session today. There are no other reasons, or misunderstandings and differences, we are all pretty unanimous in decision-making based on science rather than on politics,” Spasovski told journalists after a handover of a donation of ventilators for the Clinic for Infectious Diseases.
Political decisions are not the solution to health issues, the PM stressed.
