Skopje, 18 June 2020 (MIA) – Young people aged 16 to 29 from low-income families will receive financial support. The government adopted three decrees of the Ministry of Education and Science detailing the implementation of measures to support young people aimed at improving their standard, increase their purchasing power and develop IT skills that will help them to easily gain access to the job market, Education Minister Arber Ademi told Thursday’s press briefing.
The first decree referring to financial support amounting to MKD 3,000 (EUR 50) is intended for purchasing school supplies and equipment for full-time students enrolled in 2020/2021 school year in public high schools. A student who is older than 16 and lives in low-income households is entitled to financial support and can submit necessary documents on the platform www.www.digitalizirajse.mon.gov.mk.
The deadline for submitting application is ten days after the platform is activated. The final list of beneficiaries will be published by September 10 at the latest and within three days the payment of funds will begin.
The beneficiaries should use the funds by October 15 at the latest.
The second decree refers to financial support amounting to MKD 6,000 (EUR 100) and is designed to cover tuition fees as well as accommodation in dormitories to students from low-income families enrolled in the first cycle of studies at public higher education institutions in the country.
A student can submit application on the same platform www.digitalizirajse.mon.gov.mk from October 1 to 10 and the final list of students who will receive the financial support will be published by November 5, 2020 at the latest.
Ademi said that financial support is planned for 100,000 young people.
