Cairo, 25 February 2020 (dpa/MIA) – Former Egyptian president Hosny Mubarak, who was ousted in a 2011 uprising, has died aged 91, state television reported on Tuesday.
Mubarak, a former air force chief, ruled Egypt for nearly 30 years. He was forced out of office following 18 days of street protests that gripped Egypt as part of the Arab Spring revolts.
On Saturday, his son Alaa wrote on Twitter that Mubarak was in intensive care.
The toppled president underwent surgery in January, Alaa said, without giving details.
